Absalom trail is named for Absalom Daniels who was a dance instructor and presided over gatherings at the "Dance Hall" during a brief period during the 1830's. The foundation can be viewed via a short spur trail near the junction of Absalom and Taft trails. The trail runs through a magnificent stand of tall and straight red pines and the sight of the sunlight filtering through the upper pine branches is a humbling experience.
This trail runs from Taft Trail near the junction with Tower Rd. Trail to join with Quarry Trail.
