In 1726 a 49 1/2 foot wide road was laid out from the Arnold Taft place ( the brick house with the wooden addition on Millville Rd.) over Wigwam Hill to south of the present zoo. On may 28 1870 the town voted to accept a road ( Millville Rd.) laid out om Wigwam hill. It included some of the old Tower Rd., but sections of it were abandoned leaving only the portion that we have today over Wigwam Hill.
