This is a connector trail that connects the Baldwin with Verde Valley School Road. It's a nice little warm up section if you're riding from the road to the Baldwin and beyond -- it's a fairly subtle climb over some varied, mostly easy single track, so by the time you get up to the more difficult Baldwin you are thoroughly warmed up mentally and physically.
Taking this trail down from the Baldwin is a lot of fun because it is mostly downhill and not very technical, so you can just let 'er rip. Once you hit the road you can cross it and find an access trail to the Turkey Creek system. Take the trail that heads to the right and it will take you to Turkey Creek.
If you're heading from town on Verde Vally School Rd -- once the road turns to dirt, ride a few hundred feet and look to your right and you'll see the trail splitting off at a 45 degree angle from a dry creek bed. When you see a fork after another hundred yards, turn right and this will take you up to the Baldwin. I prefer to turn right and do the Baldwin counter clockwise.
