Box Turtle Trail is one of four trails (this, Tall Oaks, Morel Ravine and Little West Virginia) that make up the Morgan Trail System. This is a beginner rated trail with no unavoidable obstacles, no steep climbs and a relatively few rooty or rocky sections. The trail is relatively narrow in sections for a beginner trail and it would not be suitable for very young children. Even so, the trail is popular with more advanced riders because it can be extremely fast for a cross country trail and has some fun, flowy downhill sections.

Access this trail either from the Morgan Trail System trailhead on Crosstick Trail or from the Horner Forest Trail parking lot on Qualla Road via the Qualla Connector Trail

Agree with others, this one is not terrible, but more sustained climbing and rooty slightly technical uphill sections vs other greens here. Feels like an old school green vs new school well-groomed flow trails.

I’m a total novice to mountain biking, so I don’t know what goes into the grading system for trails, but this did not seem like a beginner trail.
Very narrow and twisty and rooty.
Enjoyed riding it and will be back to try and improve my skills, but it was definitely more intense than I expected for the given rating.
