      If you choose to climb up Butter Up and then connect to Busternut to finish the climb the lower part of this trail to the Irene intersection just sucks. Steep and full of roots and rocks. OK going down but not a lot of fun to climb.

      Really fun trail with 2 different personalities - the section above Goodnight Irene is pretty flowy and more of a blue difficulty level. The section below the Irene trailhead is a bit more technical with some "low country" challenges in wet areas that can be fun puzzles to solve when standing water or mud is present (the rocks are your friend).

      Big thanks to the folks who reworked this trail. They’ve turned a meh bit of trail into a five star romp. Combined with the much improved Goodnight Irene, this is now a superb descent that also climbs well.
