Minimally maintained downhill trail running from Cougar Bluffs to the North Umpqua Trail, descending about 3,000 feet. Trail has good potential as downhill flow trail if the switchbacks were to be widened or switchberms installed. Currently, the switchbacks are very tight and require track-stand turns or walking the corner. Overall though a good and interesting experience. Can be done without a shuttle by biking the road access but be prepared to climb about 4,000 feet, including a climb that rates out as HC.

Access Info

Cross the Wright Creek Bridge (if shuttling park vehicle), travel up the 4711 road to the junction with the 600 road. Turn Left and travel to the junction with the 630 road. Turn left and continue to the trailhead, just shy of the end of the 630 road. If traveling in a low clearance vehicle, find a place to park and bike down the 600 road.

'Minimally maintained' is right ! Most of the trail is littered with debris, and probably 50-100 logs. Still I enjoyed the steep technical ride,...
