The trail through Icebox Canyon is a fun climb or decent. This trail is probably the most challenging and technical of the trails on the lower part of the mountain. There are a handful of tight and steep switchbacks and a few steep, rocky, punchy climbs that make for solid challenges for most riders. There are a number of blind spots on the descent so be aware of hikers, especially on weekends.

Nice ride starting at wheeler canyon to Snowbasin, then up to Sardine peak and finish it off with Icebox.

LOTS of hikers out to see the leaves changing so be cautious on blind corners. Rocks n roots are a little slippery in the morning, otherwise its riding noice!

One of my favorite trails in the area. It has a few challenging spots. It also has some deceptive exposure with decent consequence that could land you in the river. I won’t comment on blue vs. black but you can consider yourself an icebox “black belt” down, if you can clean the top rock garden, down the tight and steep, lefty switchback, drop the root and then climb the left, rocky and steep switchback out…without putting a foot down. Really is the gem of the Art Nord (below Sardine) trail system, and the rest are really fun as well.

My favorite trail in the ogden area. Riding great, that one switch back is dry and loose but the rest is great conditions compared to most trails this summer. Helps that the trail gets almost no sun. Ride recommendation: from art nord climb east fork, descend middle fork to Icebox, descend Icebox then climb up the canyon road back to art nord. Great downhill focused trail ride for the ogden area, about 6 miles total and it has some chunk, speed and tech.
