RCP Loop 1. Well, it's worth noting the obvious first. One, the trail is adjacent to a large creek that flows through an urban area. Sorry about the trash. Two, the south end of RCP abuts a city water treatment plant. Sorry about the smell. Beyond those traits, and it's fair to call this an urban oasis. RCP is plenty busy in the evening and on the weekends. You'll encounter bikers, hikers, runners, one-wheelers, and folks fishing--sometimes in groups, so be friendly.

Loop 1's single track flows in and out of tree cover. It's flat with a few turns here and there. Roots are the primary trail feature while a teeter-totter is the bonus feature. Loops 7, 8, and 2 connect to points along Loop 1.

Keep in mind this is a nature preserve. Racoons, opossums, armadillos, owls, hawks, snakes, and turtles are only a few of the animals that call this riparian area home. Be mindful that you are the visitor.
