One of the most popular trails in San Luis Obispo, shooters is used regularly as both a fast and loose descent and a great climb. Descending the trail, you will find loose, drift-able berms and small optional jumps. While there is certainly quite a bit of rock on shooters, it is the least technical, fastest, and most flowy of the main trails descending West Cuesta Ridge. When climbing West Cuesta Ridge, if you are not going to take Old Stagecoach Road and TV Tower Road then Shooters is the easiest way up.
