Southern Crossing is a bi-directional single track that is currently the only sanctioned connector trail between the Cedro and Otero trail systems. The trail tends slightly downhill ridden from west to east, but either direction features some descending and climbing. The trail is typically smooth with only a few minor rocky section interspersed. Southern Crossing intersects Cajun Pine on the west and Deadman on the east; it also crosses NM337, a relatively busy highway, so be aware of traffic when crossing.
Park at either Pine Flat Picnic Area or Oak Flat Picnic Area
Motorcycle use allowed. Do not recommend the area during or immediately after significant precipitation
