**Note: a wildfire burned most of the area in 2023 which has significantly changed to feel of the trail. Although volunteers have been clearing deadfall, brush, and grass on an ad hoc basis, expect occasional new deadfall, brush, grass, and a trail bed that's sometimes difficult to follow. There is still great riding to be had but don't expect a well manicured trail Smile
The Stomp trail has been revived over the past several years thanks to dedicated volunteers, with great single track and rock features and views around Stake Lake. Note: first-time riders should be aware that this trail is fairly remote, and has limited to no cell phone coverage. Be prepared and self-sufficient. Riders should review the two routes, "Stake Lake Stomp Race 2018 - full route", and "Stake Lake Stomp Race 2018 - Mediator 21 km route" for full access and exit directions. This second section of the Stomp is much more technically demanding than the first Blue rated section, and includes difficult technical rock faces. Riders wishing to avoid these technical Black features should opt for Hornet (which has easier, less consequential rock faces) or Royal Wedding.
It has become popular to ride this trail as part of a clockwise loop by returning up Hornet, or even adding in an extra loops down Royal Wedding and back up Hornet again. Check out the "Stomp Mini Loop" route.

Finished weed whacking/trimming the last section of trail. All done! Also did a minor repair on a piece of bridgework, and filled in a mudhole.
