The Pump is named as such because it is like a giant natural pumptrack. For two thirds on the southern side it goes up and down gently where you can pick up speed before each climb.
It isn't really a pump track as such, think of it as a very scaled up version of a pump track.
- Starting out at Rördalsvägen, you encounter a lot of footbridges in a muddy woodland area. Some of the footbridges will swallow a 2.4" wide wheel so you need to bring your a-game balancing on single wheel wide narrow planks in places.
- As you've negotiated those footbridges you come up to some bedrock and one final, easy to traverse, footbridge onto the biggest obstacle of the trail. A steep rock face which you can jump up with enough speed and courage.
- Then starts the main feature of the trail, the "pump track" which is essentially a very easy up and down through the forest all the way down to "Långemossen".
The trail is part of Bohusleden and Vättlefjällsleden.
This trail is unsanctioned.
In wet weather, the muddy / soil area can be a nightmare.
