Timber Mesa is bipolar. The East side is mostly fast and flowing while the West side is steep and rocky. The East side can be looped using Sawmill, Panorama, and Flume if you're not up for the West side.
The trailhead is accessed from the Westernmost trailhead on the North side of Porter Mountain Road. Expect a stout climb to get started. The trail can also be accessed a little further East where Osprey crosses Porter Mountain Road.
