The top half of Widow Maker, between Bill Magill and the Vast, is a fun, modestly technical trail along the edge of the Pine forest, parallel to Pines Trail. The part of the trail is not as intimidating as its name suggests yet it is a fast trail that twists and turns tightly through a light tree stand down the hill. The surface of the trail is mostly solid and hard packed.
After Widow Maker crosses over the Vast Trail down towards the East Branch Trail, things get somewhat more serious with tighter turns and more variable surface.
Widow Maker Runs from Bill Magil at the top to the Vast Trail at the bottom. It then crosses over the Vast Trail as aBlack trail, down towards the East Branch Trail.
