Jul 4, 2026 @ 11:59pm (America/Los_Angeles) 1 day | Rode as far as the GPS tracks from the picture taken. No trees at all impeding the ride. LOT of brush, crazy. Brush didn't bother us so much on the ride up but was a bit of a buzzkill on the descent. | Dry | view
Jun 17, 2026 @ 7:07am (America/Vancouver) Jun 17, 2026 | ebike Chestnut Fire out and trail is clear. Shrubs growing fast into the lower half of the traverse section of the trail. Evergreen MTB Report | Dry | view
Jun 14, 2026 @ 3:26pm (America/Los_Angeles) Jun 14, 2026 | Hamilton Buttes is part of Evergreen's 2026 Dirty dozen. https://www.trailforks.com/badges/view/208865/ Come check it out. Beautiful forest, great views after the hike a bike on the uphill part of the trail. | Ideal | view
Jun 6, 2026 @ 9:17pm (America/Los_Angeles) Jun 6, 2026 | Clear and fun. Watch for some poorly cleared trees that could cause injury if not paying attention. | Unknown | view

May 27, 2026 @ 8:09pm (America/Los_Angeles) May 27, 2026 | Trail is clear of trees and branches as far as the GPS tracks from the photo in this report. This is as far as I made it as I was only going for purpose of trail clearing. Objective was not for recon or completion of the trail. I turned back when allergies / asthma hit me, I think caused from the brush on the trail. | Dry | view
Apr 26, 2026 @ 10:18am (America/Los_Angeles) Apr 26, 2026 | This year, I've put in 5 days work on this trail so far, and much more necessary. It's just not ready yet. Also, there is a washout on the road to the trailhead, so the trailhead is closed and the road is blocked 1.4 miles before the trailhead. Advise to not come unless you plan on doing trail work. Two washouts half mile into the trail. Myself and two friends have worked on them so that you can carry your bike through the washouts. Lot of branches on trail, I mean, A LOT. Biking over branches and logs is annoyingly slow so stop and toss branches off the trail. Picture given to show how bad it is / was, but it's not as bad as it looks because this photo is focused on the massive tree that fell, look high in the photo to see the trail location, and since this photo we put in 4 person-days work on improving the two crossings. The avalanche debris field will get your feet wet, that needs some rocks moved for stepping stones. Immediately past the avalanche debris field are 3 downed trees with lots of branches to remove. Between the washout at half mile and the avalanche debris field, many more branches on trail and a few small logs. Note: the total hours worked by group is the April sum of myself for 5 days, and 1 day each for two of my friends who helped me. More to come, but I don't log reports every time I do trail work only when significant changes should be known. | Unknown | view
Apr 22, 2026 @ 9:17am (America/Vancouver) Apr 22, 2026 | With the exception of some gravely spots due to erosion, the trail was awesome this morning after last night‘s rain. Video link in report. Evergreen MTB Report | Ideal | view
Feb 12, 2026 @ 7:42pm (America/Los_Angeles) Feb 12, 2026 | Snow free with some funky mud in places. Give it a couple weeks and it should be prime. | Unknown | view
Nov 30, 2025 @ 11:14am (America/Vancouver) Nov 30, 2025 | Upper 1/2 snow covered. Pretty good traction in the packed foot path. The log/jump at the summit has been cleared from the trail. Evergreen MTB Report | Snow Covered | view
Nov 1, 2025 @ 4:05pm (America/Vancouver) Nov 1, 2025 | Atmospheric river was soaked up well. Soil was awesome! Still needs a rake in spots. Evergreen MTB Report | Ideal | view
Oct 3, 2025 @ 11:47am (America/Vancouver) Oct 3, 2025 | ebike Ideal soil but still some sapling interference above the meadow drainage crossing. I put on heavier gloves and light raingear to keep from getting scratched at descent speeds. One tree across the trail just below the meadow entry about 200 yards. Photo in ride log. Sep 13, 2025 @ 5:33pm (America/Los_Angeles) Sep 13, 2025 | Running the best it has all year thanks to hard work from volunteers earlier this summer. Go get it while it’s good! Would recommend pants for a few brushy sections. | Ideal | view
Aug 31, 2025 @ 9:39am Aug 31, 2025 | Good to go! Beautiful as always. | Dry | view
Aug 24, 2025 @ 4:12pm Aug 24, 2025 | Rode 24 August. Trail very dry and in great condition. There’s some brushy conditions with encroaching small alders, but rode the trail in shorts and short sleeves with no scrapes. Really nice gem of a trail and even though we’re in prime season, only saw one other couple on the trail though! | Unknown | view
Aug 18, 2025 @ 7:15am Aug 18, 2025 | Rode Sunday, August 17th. As noted, vegetation is quite overgrown, though trail is still rideable. Dirt’s in great condition, it drained well after the recent rain. Suggest wearing long sleeves or elbow pads, and protective glasses, as you will get whisked by branches as you’re biking up and down. | Variable | view

Aug 1, 2025 @ 6:52pm Aug 1, 2025 | About 15-20 blowdowns now, honestly for this type of trail and how long it is they aren't too bad as they are scattered pretty evenly. 3-4 of the blowdowns are >24", none are bigger than about 32". The biggest one is on the West end of the trail before the Cispus lookout/meadows. The trail is getting very brushy in places here and there especially near the creeks between Jackpot and Saint John Lake and on the climb up from the West terminus to the meadow. Mosquitoes are epic. The loam is sublime, as is a swim in Saint John Lake. Someone motoed in at least the Eastern/Southern half and tore up some tread, especially in steep and switchback sections. I'd like to assume they cleared some blowdowns but rode around some pretty small ones.... There are also some sections with any increased use where narrow bench tread is falling away and will probably continue to turn into sidehilling after more traffic. There is a trail running event 8/8-8/12 per the signs up today, hopefully they do some brushing pre event but the extra traffic will definitely help with brush. | Ideal | view
Jul 27, 2025 @ 7:48pm Jul 27, 2025 | Some trail heros out there cutting back some of the brush! Still a fair number of bush-whack miles, but easy to manage with a good pair of gloves. Worth it for the view! | Dry | view
Jul 23, 2025 @ 7:17am Jul 23, 2025 | Still dry but recent rains have made it great. The hard pack is very tacky. Evergreen MTB Report | Dry | view
Jul 21, 2025 @ 7:52am Jul 21, 2025 | All clear thanks to the Trans-Cascadia crew! | Ideal | view
Jul 18, 2025 @ 5:49pm Jul 18, 2025 | All clear; except for one creek crossing coulld be ridden no dabs. For a mountain trail going to nearly 7000’, it is running smooth and fast. Don’t have too much fun on the descent, it drops off! Very high value ride. Thanks to the locals for the work, I suspect Methow Cycle and Sport has done a lot of work on this. | Dry | view |
