Intermediate 50%, advanced 40% and expert 10%, 3.2 mile MTB trail which is a bi-directional singletrack with a lot of technical rocky sections with exposure to spiny vegetation. The trail tread is mostly in packed dirt with river rock impeding the flow at times. I prefer to ride the trail in the counter clockwise direction and the trail is a connector for several other fun rides.

Not even fun. Most of the trail is unrideable. I say double black at least. Super sketch with exposure and cactus and just plain miserable.

Who ever rated this a black should get punched in the throat. I love techy stuff but this trail is very difficult. Embedded with baby head and bigger rock for hike a bike fun. I did ride in a clockwise direction which is consideredably more difficult. My opinion is it's a red or double red.

I agree with the other comment. The description and rating of the Loop is very misleading and inaccurate. Most of the trail barely qualifies to be called a bike trail at all with only about 30% of the loop really rideable even by an advanced rider.

This is not only the worst trail I’ve ridden in Sedona, it’s the worst trail I’ve ever ridden anywhere. I am able to ride most black trails and was only able to ride about 30% of this between the boulder fields and exposure.

The North side that connects Airport road to Bandit trail is rideable. I agree with the other comments above for the rest of the trail. The North side also leads you to Sunset trail (not mapped yet) which leads you down to Sunset road or there's a place where you can pop out directly onto Sunset road from Bandit trail.

I've lived in Sedona for over 30 years and K owned this area completely. This trail is tough, but once you get the hang of it it actually becomes quite fun. Counter clockwise is the easier way, but both directions are cleanable. The bulk of the trail is very slow speed with embedded boulders, which for most people is a different feel. Arguably the most bang for the buck you'll find in 3 miles. I did it yesterday with 3 dabs, counterclockwise.

100% agree with Toddzirra. This should be hikers only, and with all the other riding options nearby, why would you want to even attempt this horrendous trail...and the guy who said he rode it couterclockwise with three dabs is trolling you, that is not humanly possible, especially with the number of hikers you are likely to encounter

Black is very appropriate for this trail. There are definitely some challenging techy climbs, but if you had a few rides on it, it would be totally cleanable. It was certainly a fun little loop and we were able to do a quick sunset ride right from our AirBnB. Haters gonna hate

Not for bike IMO. Just dit it clockwise and I barely rode my bike. Avoid this trail.

If someone came to me and offered me $50,000,000 to ride this trail again or my gonads would be lopped off and tossed into a white-flame fire, I would personally use the dull Swiss Army knife to castrate myself and deliver my jellybeans to the fires of hell.

Rode up bandit from old post, then counterclockwise. Tough climb indeed. If you don’t like climbing through tough rocky terrain, skip this trail. The lines in the northeast side are great. Fun maneuvers with some good exposure and one or two lines that could have some bad consequences if you don’t clear them.

Rode counter-clockwise and very rough, full body taxing workout. Would ONLY recommend riding the North section which connects over to Bandit; I did east to west, segment was fun. Also note that Cacti are very prevalent near the trail, got 3 needles in the leg. Good views however not worth riding.

Been riding for about 12 years now and this is definitely the worst trail I’ve ever written. I just wish I would have read the comments before I went out on it. I am new to Sedona and thought I would try it out based on stupid Trailforks description.
This is absolutely not a mountain bike trail it is a hiking trail that allows mountain bikes on it. Sidenote, I crashed, Broke my left index finger and destroyed my Garmin.

f*ck this trail it is the worst trail I have ever ridden, I would have to say only about 10 minutes is actually rideable. It is a good hiking trail but never do this on a bike.

Not sure what all of the complaints are about. Is it the greatest trail in Sedona? No. Is it difficult? Of course. Is it rideable? Yes.

I road it clockwise and enjoyed the challenge. There was a 0.1mi section I chose to walk. But the rest was some fun stuff. I get that it’s a lot of rough rocks, but don’t let that stop you.

I like the trail clockwise due to the volcanic bolder field on the west side of airport Mesa that is close to impossible to get flow or rhythm in the CC direction and you’ll still have a hike-a-bike section but a much more fun chunkier section leading down to Baldwin Trail.

This is one of the worst trails I have ever ridden. Rode this with my wife and almost came back a single dude. Hikers only. Not for bikes.

I gave it a try (CCW) despite the negative reviews and I thought it was fun. You have to like low speed tech rock crawling, both up and down. It's hard, but there aren't really many expert-level features. Probably only expert-level riders will like it because of the continuous rock gardens for half the trail. I dabbed many times, but only walked a couple awkward exposed features. Most everything should be rideable with a couple of tries.

Know what you're signing up for, and it's a fun trail. Very different from others in Sedona.

Why all the hate...? Trail is fine despite what the reviews here say. Worst trail ever...lol, no chance.

Its chunky and a few hike a bike sections no doubt...if you're and 'Enduro Bro with a 140 (or bigger) bike' you'll enjoy it - make sure to go Clockwise. If you don't understand the previous sentence best to avoid this and look for a blue
