Upper Goldmine is extremely steep & loose, not much of a trail. Tough to hike as well, beware!! Lower Goldmine is part of San Tan trail and is an easy dirt road.

I prefer the back side (or south side) coming from Dynamite to San Tan then up Goldmine to the top. It's a heck of a climb and for most will include some HAB. However once at the top the ride back to the parking lot following that same route is excellent and my favorite in the valley. Goldmine is steep and rocky but it's a proper DH segment. Not too many places where you can get right at 1,000 vertical feet in 7 miles!

Both the front side and back side DH's are fun. The north side is really loose and SUPER steep at the very top. After that is is really fun and flowy. The south side is a riot at as well. On Strava is is named Crazy DH. Super fast speeds. Its over in about a minute but worth riding. Overall San Tan trails are VERY tame compared to AZ riding, but still very fun.

Rode down Lower Goldmine. It’s a white knuckle decent, but a super fun technical decent. I wouldn’t ever climb it on my bike. But it’s definitely possible to decend on the bike.

I’ve HABed both sides and have to say the south side is amazing. The north side is chunky and loaded with large loose rocks, doable but not as fun.

I just went down this trail again. Super fun trail! I have yet to climb it all the way on my bike,. I like to climb from the southside going down on the northside. Going down on the northside is probably 10 to 15 minutes, climbing on the southside is probably a 15 minute climb.
