Jul 3, 2026 @ 12:56pm (America/Los_Angeles) 2 days | First ~ miles along north shore is clear and rideable, then trail becomes unrideable and unwalkable due to down trees and debris. | Very Dry | view
Jun 21, 2026 @ 10:37am (America/Boise) Jun 21, 2026 | Stone Creek only minimal mud from rain the night before. Brackett Creek side of the ride is very muddy and torn up by dirt bikes, but totally rideable. A lot of work was done on downed trees - we had no obstructions from downed trees. | Variable | view
Jun 16, 2026 @ 8:23am (America/Los_Angeles) Jun 16, 2026 | Heartbreaking report... Neither trail is marked closed by the FOREST CIRCUS. There is an excess of 400 trees blocking the trail with most down within the western burn area. I'm not exaggerating on the number of trees. As I started the ride from shadow bay road clockwise, I was excited to see the first 2 miles of the trail was cleared recently but only to the south shelter. A trail that normally take 3hrs on avg to ride, took me close to 5hrs due to hopping hundreds of trees and thousands of branches and debris in the trail. The trail is blocked at the N. campground, not accessible to continue. It's not worth attempting to ride the trail anytime soon, unless the USFS gets this place cleaned up. Such a beautiful iconic place that has been destroyed by fire the USFS management. Saddened to see this! | Very Dry | view
Jun 14, 2026 @ 11:12am (America/Denver) Jun 14, 2026 | Around mile 12, coming from the Stone Creek trailhead there are many downed trees. Probable 1/2 - 3/4 miles of the trail are impacted. It was possible to navigate through the downed trees, but it was slow going. Thank you to the people who have been working to clear these trees from the trail (they were too big and too many for my small pack saw). | Variable | view
May 3, 2026 @ 5:13am (America/Denver) May 3, 2026 | Mostly dry until first summit at 4.8 mi. Snow covered after that and impassable on bike for all practical purposes. Plan on doing this as an out-and-back until later in the season. | Snow Covered | view
Mar 13, 2026 @ 2:50pm (America/Denver) Mar 13, 2026 | Great shape! | Dry | view
Sep 20, 2025 @ 7:49am (America/Los_Angeles) Sep 20, 2025 | trailrun Trail was marked closed for logging. It was early Saturday morning so I and several others went under the closer. The trail was fine. No workers. At the north campground there were several logging machines but no workers. | Dry | view

Sep 13, 2025 @ 11:48am (America/Los_Angeles) Sep 13, 2025 | ebike Trail is in decent shape. The 4 downed logs mentioned by ifrankie are still there, but they're easy to carry bike over. Everything under 6" has been cleared (for now). | Dry | view

Aug 13, 2025 @ 11:07am Aug 13, 2025 | Four trees are down, blocking the trail in the NW burn area. Soil erosion is extreme in the burn, with many exposed roots. One big boulder slid into the trail in the NW area. | Dry | view
Aug 8, 2025 @ 10:33pm Aug 8, 2025 | Glad it’s still there and rideable. Some welcome new green growth, most dry snags broken back. Little more solid than last yr. North was a heavy burn so ashy w/o shade. | Dry | view
Jul 24, 2025 @ 5:34pm Jul 24, 2025 | Riding well, some trees down at the end of the loop but it wouldn’t be a journey without some hiccups. | Dry | view

Jul 9, 2025 @ 4:03pm Jul 9, 2025 | 5 trees down, from shadow bay road to south shelter. Rest of way to N Campground, is clear but extremely rutted from burn, has worsened over winter. Trail is overgrown in many spots. On south and western slope. This trail need some love. Glad is is open, but thinning is needed! From N Campground to shadow bay road has a couple trees down, but riding nice ! | Very Dry | view
Jul 7, 2025 @ 7:55am Jul 7, 2025 | Fully logged out and riding well, still a few mucky spots but they're short. Watch for debris on the trail in burned areas. | Dry | view
