Rode the entire trail from west to east. It’s really fine. No deadfall but with short muddy sections from time to time but quite manageable. Scenic stops all along the way and highly recommended for that reason.

However, I would only recommend a west-to-east travel direction since the difficulty level would be in the realm of Black Diamond in the opposite direction. Even with the gradient being mostly downhill traveling from west to east, the trail still presents a lot of punchy and sustained climbs with plenty of root and rock obstacles along those climb sections.

Therefore, the recommended approach is via the Powderface Trail east to west and connect via the Trail Creek Trail and Powderface Trail headed north.

Very scenic trail that gets little use. Highly recommended for its scenic vistas and lonely feel.

No deadfall, mostly dry and in ideal condition. Trail surface on the east side of the high point in super condition and mostly smooth overall despite equestrian use, seems rebuilt and machine cut. Trail on the west side of the high point not quite in as good condition but still highly navigable. Hardest point on the climb is the uphill gradient after the intersection with the Prairie Link Trail. Therefore, an e-bike is highly recommended if traveling westward beyond Prairie Link.

Therefore, recommended travel direction is east to west with a return via the Prairie Creek Trail west to east. You really don’t want to do this loop in the opposite direction. Climbing Prairie Creek from east to west is more of a black diamond level of difficulty whereas climbing Powderface east to west is medium difficulty.

Mostly dry but has many short muddy sections beaten up by cattle. West half is far worse. Variableview

Trail is running fairly well. A few wet spots where the creek has spilled over its banks (East of the gate), as well as where a few drainages cross the trail. These wet spots exist where the trail is predominantly gravel however, so there's no real mud to speak of. The new portion of trail is in excellent shape, and there's only one easily avoided soft patch pockmarked with hoof and tire prints. Variableview

Trail starts out dry at east end but soon turns into a sheet of ice. Maybe it gets better further up. Not worth the trouble; there are plenty of dry trails on Prairie/Moose mountain. Icyview

Dry and in good condition all the way to the other side / 66 dirt road. Personally, I like the rebuilt trail even on a 160mm travel acoustic bike. Yes; you’ll breathe heavily, but it’s good fun and you really earn your turns. Idealview

The new trail to the summit (on east side) is great. You can now ride all the way to the top. Smooth but steep, so expect to take a lot of breaks. Reminds me of Shattered but without all the switchbacks. Dryview
