Intermediate 50% and advanced 50%, 2.18 mile MTB trail which is a bi-directional singletrack that is an up, up and over trail with some very technical steep sections at both ends of the trail. The trail tread is mostly on packed bentonite clay and during wet periods it is not the place to be. The views from this trail are spectacular, but as a single trail that goes nowhere it is not popular as it could be if linked up with something more rideable to eliminate the impossible climb sections at either end. There is no preferred direction unless you might want to ride Lime Kiln to Cottonwood.

      Believe the description, the climb up either end of the trail is impossible. I’m an intermediate rider and had to walk it a majority of the way up the North end. I don’t see how even an Advanced rider could clear it. Levels off on mountain ridge but very chunky, not enjoyable. 2 stars only because view is great.

      If you like raw, natural trails you will enjoy this trail. It is similar to Hot Loop and the end of Turkey Creek.

      Either way you go on this trail it’s straight up for a half mile or so on each end. The vista where it meet Lime Kiln is your typical breathtaking Sedona panorama however you can get the same view many other places for less work. I tried this trail because I’ve tried most of them in town and thought I should give it a go. If you mr deciding on this trail for the same reason, pick a trail you liked and re-ride it is my advice.
