Trail Cascade
I personally enjoy riding this trail W to E instead. The ascent from Catamount Shortcut takes some hiking, but it's all pretty smooth downhill after the peak. E to W and you're riding slow uphill pretty much the whole way and miss out on some nice berms and smooth narrow cut in trail next to the rocky ravine.

Trail Chipmunk
Rose this in the recommended directio(green dot to red square) and was a technical ride with lots of rocks and roots. Very hard to keep a decent flow as you are climbing a lot with plenty of roots and rocks to slow you down/make you get off and walk. Agree with other posters this should be black not blue

Question: What is worse than "meh"?
Answer: this "trail", well it's not a trail actually, it's another forest service road.

As NERider said it does connect some fun trails with some other fun trails, but I recommend you find another connection.

Fun XC trail, a little bit of tech. Nice to climb and descend.

I dont agree with Trailforks on the start/end recommendation on this trail. The proper way to ride this trail is south to north. A good run on this trail will make your entire day better.

Sentinel down to Alp is one of the most enjoyable sections of the park. If you like fast switch, you'll like ALP.

The one trail I wouldn't leave the park without riding. Slight rooted climb at the beginning, but worth it.

This should be a double black, it can be difficult to even HIKE ur bike in most spots..forget riding it. And I haven't ridden it downhill but I can just imagine how terrifying that would be.

I've ridden it downhill. it's not as bad as you would think. it's one of the tougher trails at BB but still a single black imo

Probably my favorite trail in the park. It’s a weird mix of double single track with lots of rocks and roots you can jump and drop off of. Don’t skip the last section of the trail, it’s very fast and very gnarly.

Trail Alp D' Huez
This is commonly ridden North to South, for a bit more action, speed, challenge, and (IMO) fun, hit it from the South side and ride downhill.

If Hemlock and Broken Boulder are blues then the southern half of Chipmunk should be a black.

Trail Chipmunk
riding north to south, begins as chunky rooted doubletrack with a long rock garden shortly after the cemetery. slow going on a hardtail, but kind of a fun challenge.

as other comments mention, definitely on the tough/technical end for a blue at this park.

I rode it Northeast to Southwest and it wasn’t memorable. Not terrible but definitely not something you should seek to do unless it’s to connect you from one better Trail to the other like from Hemloc to the Bear Hill / hedgehog ledge group of trails

Very techy for Bear Brook. Classic rock and root narrow singletrack. I rode it south to north and it was a climb for the most part. Hard to keep flow, as it is tight and the rocks and roots are numerous, though no feature is excessively hard the trail give you a bit of a beating when you run it south to north.

Favorite trail in the park. Ranges from really tight twisty singletrack to technical rocky single track. Really engaging and challenging without being over the top. Besides the stone steps I think this would be more of a heavy blue. Really great trail. A must ride if you are an intermediate or above

So much fun traveling south to north. Great technical downhill section and skinny if you are an advanced intermediate. Can’t figure out why this is not more popular

Trail Bear Hill
My favorite trail in the park. Also on a side note, it is incredible in the winter snow. When groomed all the tech gets smoothed out like a pb&j and it rips. I think the reason its not more popular is two fold. 1. There aren't many fun trails that go up to the top. And 2. Most people dont want to make that second climb once they get to Hayes field to get up there. And lets face it, once you get to Hayes, the options to go down are calling, lol.

Didn’t love this trail and it becomes an archery course about a third of the way in. I was rolling down a trail and rolled out and almost in between a notched compound bow and it’s target

Pretty meh trail. Doubletrack that's virtually impassible in the spring with all the water crossings. Avoid in spring for sure.

From Podunk Rd. to Spruce Pond Rd, this is an underated fun little downhill blast. After that it flattens a bit and gets a little boring. If ridden right its a fun beginner to intermediate fairly wide trail.
