Trail is in pretty good shape but not well marked so you will probably need a gps track if you haven't been on it before. The third fence you cross is a range fence with a gate in it about 200 feet slope distance above from where the track shows the trail. An easy detour. There are three or 4 places where Trail relocation for short distances would be desirable to avoid wet swampy areas. There are some significantly burned areas, some partial burn areas and some unburned areas, probably 60 percent unburned. I cleared sticks and rocks off the trail but did not do any sawing. There are probably 200 trees across the trail (rough estimate) but weren't too hard to get through hiking. The swampy area was still wet. All in all, a great non-motorized trail that could use some saw work. Had excellent views from the rocky knob just north of Haystack mtn on the Stormy Peak trail just above the upper end of this trail. | Dry | view | |||

There are some steep sections of trail that go straight up the fall line that could use some relocation to reduce erosion potential if the trail is ever reopened.
